Type of soiling
There are many different types of and causes for soiling which can be rectified using MOC's cleaning systems:
Cover pastes are media that are often used in hardening so that certain areas are not changed during the process.
These are generally lubricants. In addition to lubrication, grease is also used to cover the surface to protect against corrosion for rusting components. In cleaning, a distinction is made between grease that can be dissolved in water and that which requires a solvent.
There are two aspects to cleaning with regard to paints
1. Removing paints
2. Pre-treatment for painting
We understand oils to be organic substances that are used in production to protect a process or a surface material or to lubricate this. This is required, for example, for additional mechanical processes such as assembly, chipping or lubricating bearings. In cleaning (degreasing) surfaces, the composition of the oils of key importance.
Polishing pastes are substances that are used in production to change a surface in order to create a new surface quality. After polishing, residues of polishing pastes and metallic or ceramic dust are present that were created in the polishing process. The residues are characterized by the fact that they are pressed into the surface, and were often created at high temperatures and under high pressure.
Corrosion is the oxidative change to the surface of a material. There is a large variety of oxidation layers. The best known is rust on iron. However other surfaces can also have oxidation layers, such as aluminum. The oxidation layer is fixed to the surface. It can be removed using mechanical chemical methods.
Emulsions are substances suspended in water that are used in production to protect a material on the surface or to lubricate this. This is required, for example, in mechanical processes such as assembly, chipping or lubricating bearings. Emulsions differ from oils in that they are mixtures that allow water to be mixed with oils thanks to emuslifying agents.
Corrosion / oxidation:
Corrosion is an oxidative change to the surface of a matrial. There is a wide variety of different oxidation layers.
Lapping compounds, lapping oil
Lapping compounds are grinding agents that support lapping. Cleaning has particular requirements for system technology, as the level of soiling is particularly high in this regard.
In connection with cleaning, all soiling that is not of organic origin is referred to as particles. These can be determined via their material (metallic,k ceramic, fibrous, plastic, etc.) or by their shape (round, ball-shapped, flat, long, etc.). Particles can be measured and seen.
Release agents are substances that are added to a tool or a part in order to be able to remove this part from production equipment after processing without any problems. Example plastic injection machines.
Waxes differ from oils in that they leave behind a defined layer on the surface, which is mostly homogenous. The composition of the wax is of key importance for removal (cleaning).
